About UsThe Best ProgramsWe are proud to offer the annual Mock Trial Tournament and Summer Institutes on the Courts. Since the inception of the Mock Trial Tournament, Rhode Island students have been provided a uniquely exciting educational experience where they assume the roles of attorneys and witnesses to try a hypothetical case provided by the Partnership. Student teams guided by lawyer and teacher coaches present their cases before members of the judiciary in courtrooms throughout the state; and attorneys acting as performance judges score the proceedings. Each mock trial requires two performance judges (three for playoff trials, thirteen for the Championship Trial before Rhode Island's Chief Justice) to decide the outcome and provide constructive criticism on the performances. Each year hundreds of attorneys volunteer and in the process change the public's perception of the profession.
Summer Institutes on the Courts offers four weeklong courses each summer. Those looking for a wonderful learning experience can join hundreds of other educators/administrators who have enjoyed these interactive classes. Each course offers its participants a chance to develop an understanding of the courts in ways that make the courses relevant for today's educators. Our experienced and educated staff can answer any questions you may have about any of our programs. Please call us at 401-275-2871/401-464-4823 Fax. Our Supporters: The annual Rhode Island Mock Trial Tournament is made possible by grants from the Rhode Island Bar Foundation, the Rhode Island Department of Education General Assembly Grant; donations from the United Way/SECA (#4975), EM4B, and contributions from various in-kind supporters, volunteers and individuals likes you. |
